About Vintage Dollplaza

At Vintage Dollplaza, we do something most doll sellers don't: we make our own boxes.

Our doll and fashion display boxes have been a cornerstone of this business from the very beginning — designed for dealers who need professional presentation at shows, and collectors who want their treasures stored safely and beautifully at home. While everyone else was sourcing generic packaging, we were building boxes purpose-made for the dolls we love. That attention to the details that matter is how we approach everything we do.

We also offer a carefully curated selection of vintage and collectible dolls, with particular depth in vintage Barbie and Madame Alexander. Every piece is handled, evaluated, and described by people with decades of firsthand experience — not a warehouse picker reading a condition guide for the first time.

We grade strictly — age is not an excuse for undisclosed flaws. We price fairly. We ship carefully.

Our History

Vintage Dollplaza grew out of the Barbara Peterson Doll Show and Sale, founded by Barbara Peterson and run across Southern California — from its early days at the La Mirada golf course to its peak at the Disneyland Hotel, with stops along the way near Knott's Berry Farm. The show attracted guest appearances from legends of the doll world, including Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie, and Bob Mackie, the legendary costume designer behind Cher's iconic looks who also brought his artistry to limited-edition Barbie dolls. Renowned doll artists also appeared — the kind of direct relationships that put one-of-a-kind signed pieces into our hands, some of which are available here today.

As the internet reshaped the hobby in the mid-2000s, the shows passed into new hands. Barbara's daughter Natalie now carries the family's expertise forward through Vintage Dollplaza — same standards, new platform.
