Vintage Dollplaza is a family-run doll business with roots that go back decades.

We offer thousands of dolls, fashions, accessories, and collectibles spanning generations — from modern favorites to vintage treasures and antique dolls.

But there is another part of Vintage Dollplaza that collectors have come to know especially well:

We make our own doll boxes.

We've been doing it since the 1990s.

Boxes Made for Collectors

Our boxes began with a simple idea: doll collectors deserve packaging designed specifically for their collections.

Our doll display boxes are purpose-built for displaying, protecting, storing, and transporting dolls, with a range of sizes and styles to accommodate different collecting needs.

Our classic display box designs draw inspiration from Classic Vintage Barbie doll packaging, including the distinctive liner that has become a defining feature of our classic box.

We've continued making these boxes for decades, and they have become some of the products Vintage Dollplaza is best known for.

For many collectors, they're the reason they find us in the first place.

Purpose-Built Fashion Boxes

We also make boxes specifically for doll fashions.

Our fashion boxes are inspired by the purpose-built packaging used for Classic Vintage Barbie fashions. We took that idea and developed an unbranded, aftermarket solution for collectors today.

They're designed specifically for storing, protecting, organizing, and displaying doll fashions.

A Family History in Dolls

The story of Vintage Dollplaza began long before we started selling online.

Barbara Peterson founded the Barbara Peterson Doll Show and Sale, which became a fixture of the Southern California doll-collecting community.

The shows grew over the years, moving from their early days at the La Mirada golf course to locations including the Disneyland Hotel, with stops along the way near Knott's Berry Farm.

Collectors came to buy, sell, discover, and share their passion for dolls. The shows also brought some remarkable people into the world of doll collecting.

Guests included Ruth Handler, creator of the Barbie doll, and Bob Mackie, the legendary designer. Renowned doll artists also came to the shows to sign their work for attendees, creating memorable opportunities for collectors to meet the artists behind pieces in their collections.

Those years gave our family something invaluable:

decades of firsthand experience with dolls, collecting, and the people who make this hobby so special.

From Doll Shows to Vintage Dollplaza

As the internet changed the way collectors bought and sold dolls, the doll shows eventually passed into new hands.

But our family's connection to dolls continued.

Barbara's daughter Natalie carries that experience forward today through Vintage Dollplaza.

What started with doll shows has grown into an online destination with a constantly changing selection of thousands of items — from modern dolls and collectibles to vintage and antique pieces.

And alongside that ever-changing inventory, we continue to make the specialized boxes that collectors have sought us out for since the 1990s.

More Than Boxes
